APAC Mentorship Pilot Program

APAC Mentorship Pilot Program

The Academic Professional Advisory Committee (APAC), in collaboration with the Office for Access and Equity, Human Resources, Office of the Chancellor, and Technology Solutions, is introducing the UIC Mentorship Pilot Program, a new initiative spearheaded by APAC for Academic Professionals (APs). Aimed at fostering professional growth, career development, and cross-departmental collaboration among university employees, this pilot program is launching in July 2026 using the Together Mentoring Platform.

Designed to connect experienced mentors with motivated mentees, this program will create opportunities for learning, guidance, and networking across the UIC community, with a commitment to meet one of the strategic initiatives of the Chancellor: “Recruiting and retaining the best faculty and staff is our final priority. It matters that the people who make our university excel feel seen, valued, and motivated.”

The program will feature:

  • Thoughtful mentor-mentee matching based on goals, interests, and experience, ensuring successful matches
  • A clear, structured program with personalized agendas, helpful reminders, and resources
  • An extensive resource library with mentoring handbooks, courses, and articles

Participation in this program requires supervisor approval, so interested employees should discuss their goals, timing, and available support with their supervisors prior to applying.

Whether you would like to share your expertise as a mentor or seek guidance to enrich your career as a mentee, the Together Mentoring Platform provides a structured and supportive environment, and we can’t wait to get started! Please watch your inbox for more information on application details in the coming months.
