Cat Humpal serves as a Visiting Research Specialist in the UIC Department of Medicine, Division of Pulmonary, Critical Care, Sleep, and Allergy. She also is a graduate student at the UIC School of Public Health, Division of Epidemiology and Biostatistics. Cat has been proud to call UIC her home since 2015 as both a student and an academic employee. Her background is in molecular biology, initially trained in neuroscience before pivoting into pulmonary disease research.
Cat holds a BS in Biological Sciences from UIC and is in the process of completing her MPH in Epidemiology. She received the APAC Professional Development Award in spring 2022 and joined the APAC shortly after to represent the shared interests of UIC’s early career academic professional staff.
