Introduction
Academic Professionals: We want to hear from you!
Our annual election to become a regular member of APAC takes place during the Spring semester.
For those APs who would like to learn more about the committee, who are interested in receiving updates about topics that are relevant to APs, and who would like to provide input on ideas, we invite you to become an AP Influencer. No commitment is required! Attending AP Influencer meetings is a great way to learn about the role of APAC and its representatives.

Spring 2025 General Election Announcement and Nomination Materials
The Academic Professional Advisory Committee (APAC) is now accepting nominations for five (5) open seats as part of its 2025 General Election. APAC serves as an elected body that advises the University on matters affecting Academic Professional (AP) staff and represents AP interests in campus-wide governance and advocacy.
This is a meaningful opportunity for Academic Professionals to participate in shared governance, influence policy, and help shape the future of UIC. We invite all eligible AP employees to consider nominating themselves or a colleague.
Nominating and Election Process
To run for an APAC seat, candidates must complete a Nomination Form, which includes a brief personal statement and the names and UIC email addresses of ten (10) endorsers who are APs working at least 50% FTE.
All nomination materials must be submitted electronically by 5:00 p.m. on Friday, May 23, 2025. The Nomination Form is available on the APAC website. Candidates must submit their own electronic signature and collect electronic signatures from their endorsers.
You will receive confirmation once your completed form has been received. For questions or support, please contact the APAC Executive Committee at APACinfo@uic.edu.
Responsibilities of APAC Member
Serving on APAC is a volunteer leadership role performed in addition to regular university duties. Members attend monthly committee meetings and may serve on subcommittees or task forces related to university initiatives. APAC provides a platform for academic professionals to raise concerns, propose solutions, and build connections across campus.
