APAC General Representatives

The Academic Professional Advisory Committee (APAC) represents the interests of Academic Professionals (APs) at UIC. APs who have appointments of 50% or more constitute the electorate and are therefore eligible to vote and to be candidates to serve as an APAC General Representative.

APAC is now accepting nominations for seven (7) open seats as part of its 2026 General Election. APAC serves as an elected body that advises the University on matters affecting Academic Professional (AP) staff and represents AP interests in campus-wide governance and advocacy.

Nomination and Election Process

To run for an APAC seat, candidates must complete a Nomination Form, which includes a brief personal statement and the names and UIC email addresses of ten (10) endorsers who are APs working at least 50% FTE.

All nomination materials must be submitted electronically by 5:00 p.m. on Friday, April 17, 2026. The Nomination Form is available below. Candidates must submit their own electronic signature and collect electronic signatures from their endorsers.

Responsibilities of APAC Member

Serving on APAC is a volunteer leadership role performed in addition to regular university duties. Members attend monthly committee meetings and may serve on subcommittees or task forces related to university initiatives. APAC provides a platform for academic professionals to raise concerns, propose solutions, and build connections across campus.

For any additional questions, please contact the APAC Executive Committee at APACinfo@uic.edu.
