About
Shubha Priyamvada, Ph.D. currently holds the position of Assistant Director, Office of Animal Care and Institutional Biosafety, Office of Vice Chancellor of Research (OVCR), and Research Assistant Professor in the Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology, Department of Medicine at the University of Illinois Chicago (UIC). She is also a certified implementor for BRiM (Bias reduction in Internal Medicine) at UIC. She earned her Bachelor of Science (Biochemistry Honors), Master of Science (Biochemistry) and Ph.D. degree in Biochemistry from Aligarh Muslim University (AMU, Aligarh), India. Dr. Priyamvada has more than 15 years of extensive research experience. Her research expertise is in gastrointestinal physiology with primary focus in understanding the pathophysiological basis of inflammatory bowel disease and diarrheal disorders associated with gut inflammation or enteric infections. She has authored over 45 peer-reviewed high impact publications, several scientific reviews and book chapters. She is routinely invited to share her research in various local and national conferences. Dr. Priyamvada’s research experience continues to influence her work as an Assistant Director at the Office of Animal Care and Institutional Biosafety, with the primary responsibility of reviewing ACC/IBC protocols and helping UIC research investigators accomplish their research goals while remaining in compliance with the applicable institutional regulations and policies and federal requirements.
