About
Carol has been a leadership team member at the University of Illinois College of Medicine
Rockford (UICOMR) since 2008. Carol is the Assistant Dean for Operations; in this role, she
provides general administrative oversight and support to ensure smooth and efficient operations. Carol
reports directly to the Dean of the College of Medicine Rockford and works with the Dean on special
projects, including planning and strategy development regarding the future direction/performance of the
College. She provides administrative leadership for developing and operating high-quality, cost-effective
clinical programs, including the MERIT Clinic and the medical clinics at the Winnebago County Jail and
the Juvenile Justice Center. In 2020, Carol developed and led the UICOMR response efforts to address
the campus and community needs during the COVID-19 pandemic. A Community Testing Center and
test processing lab were created. Carol leads the Strategic Planning efforts. Carol also serves as the
Chief Compliance and Privacy Officer.
Carol is active in the Rockford Community, serving as the current Board Chair of the GoRockford
Foundation Board and the immediate past chair of the GoRockford Board. Carol also serves as
the immediate past chair of the Rockford Regional Health Council and is a member of the Mayor’s
Task Force on Behavioral Health.
Past Roles include Board Member Freeport Health Network (FHN) 2012 – 2022, Board Chair 2013-
2019, and Current FHN Board Quality and Governance Committee Member.
