Academic Professionals: We want to hear from you!

Our annual election to become a regular member of APAC takes place during the Spring semester.

For those APs who would like to learn more about the committee, who are interested in receiving updates about topics that are relevant to APs, and who would like to provide input on ideas, we invite you to become an AP Influencer. No commitment is required! Attending AP Influencer meetings is a great way to learn about the role of APAC and its representatives.

Want to know more about APAC? Join us for one of our APAC meetings at the dates and times listed below.

The Academic Professional Advisory Committee is responsible for conducting a nomination and election process for Academic Professional (AP) Representatives to the UIC Senate. Recently, the Senate has increased the allocation of AP Senate Representatives by six (6) seats, for a total of nine (9) representatives in all. APAC is making a call to all academic professional employees to consider self-nominations to be an AP Representative to the UIC Senate starting in 2025. Please review the responsibilities and nomination information below, and reach out to any member of APAC for additional information.

Nominating and Election Process
The nominating process involves completing a Nomination Form, including a personal statement, and the names and UIC email addresses of ten (10) endorsers who are APs of at least 50%. Completed Nomination Forms must be received by 5:00 p.m. on Friday, December 20, 2024. Using the electronic form found on the APAC website, candidates will be asked to submit an electronic signature on behalf of themselves and receive and submit electronic signatures of their endorsers.

Receipt of a completed Nomination Form will be confirmed. For any questions or issues, please contact the APAC Executive Committee at APACinfo@uic.edu with any specific questions.

Responsibilities of Senate AP Representative
APs who serve as Senate AP Representative do so in addition to their regular University-related duties. Senate AP Representatives are to attend the regular UIC Senate meetings and may also serve as AP Representative on UIC Senate committees.
