AWARDS & RECOGNITION PROGRAMS

  • CAPE Award

    The Chancellor’s Academic Professional Excellence (CAPE) Award, established in 1988, recognizes the demonstrated excellence of academic professional staff members and affirms our highest regard for the contributions of this important community to UIC. This year, six academic professionals will receive the CAPE Award which provides a $1,000 permanent increase to the honoree’s salary and a $2,000 one-time cash award.

    Nominations are welcomed from UIC faculty, students, academic professionals, and support staff. We also encourage you to resubmit past nominees.

    The procedures and eligibility criteria can be found here. The deadline for nominations and all supporting credentials is noon on July 10, 2020. Awards will be presented on November 17, 2020 at the UIC Employee Recognition ceremony and reception at the Isadore and Sadie Dorin Forum at UIC. Details will follow closer to the event.

  • Award of Merit

    Award of Merit recognizes outstanding academic professionals and support staff employees. It is a university-wide honor available to all UIC campus staff members who exhibit service, commitment and dedication. Award recipients receive $2,500 and a memento gift.

  • Inspire Award

    In 2007, the program added the INSPIRE Award to recognize individuals who have consistently, and over long periods of time based their every action on UIC’s Core Values, “Integrity, Nurture, Service, Pride, Intellect, Respect, and Excellence”. An annual UIC Luminary Award is also given to the INSPIRE candidate who represents the pinnacle of service to the campus and its constituents.

  • Delta Award

    University Administration Distinguished Employee Leadership and Team Award (DELTA) is designed to annually recognize employees and teams within University Administration (UA) for their exceptional accomplishments and service to the University. Through this program, outstanding performance is encouraged in all UA employees.
